There are many instances of environmental disaster which happened due to the negligence of ONGC in various places. Vedanta Ltd will be having major stakes in the upcoming projects in the region, that too, for unconventional hydrocarbon extraction. In this context, NewsClick interviewed environmentalist Nityanand Jayaraman, who has studied the impact of ONGC projects in the delta region and has intervened for people's rights.
