Over 12 Students Hurt in Blast Inside Private School in Kashmir’s Pulwama

All students injured in the ‘mysterious’ explosion in Falah-e- Milat school are said to be stable.

Over a dozen students were injured in a mysterious blast inside a private school at Sirnoo Narbal area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. According reports, a tuition-cum-coaching centre was being run in the school, which was closed during winter recess.

The injured students have been shifted to the Pulwama District Hospital for treatment. Students with serious injuries have been shifted to the Pampore hospital of the district. “Out of the total 11 injured that were received at Pampore hospital four were shifted to a Bone and Joints Hospital and one was referred to SMHS,”a doctor at Sub District Hospital, Pampore said.

All the students who are being treated at the Pulwama Hospital are stable.

The police said they were ascertaining the nature and circumstance of the blast, “some explosion took place inside a classroom at a private school known as Falah e Milat. In the incident 12 students reportedly sustained injuries. They were rushed to the hospital and are stated to be stable. A case has been registered and the investigation is in progress,” a police spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, clashes broke out between the police and youth near the school after police arrived on the spot.Police used tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.
