Preparations on to Lend a National Character to the Farmers' Movement
The Union Government has been seen doing 'psychological warfare' with its own people. It does not want to give up its insistence on withdrawing the three Farm Laws that are anti-farmer and pro-corporate. The government and the ruling party are campaigning against the farmers movement and its leaders all over the country. In response, farmer leaders have also started visiting other states, with Haryana farmer leader Gurnam Singh's visit to Bihar an example of this. Meanwhile, farmers in Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have stepped up their campaign in favour of the movement. Senior journalist Urmilesh presents an analysis.
