Questions Raised on Modi’s Silence on Farmers’ Death

In this episode of Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hain Tere, senior journalist Abhisar Sharma talks about the viral video showing farmers being run over by an SUV in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday. The video, which surfaced on Tuesday, was shared by BJP MP Varun Gandhi.  

In this episode of Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hain Tere, senior journalist Abhisar Sharma talks about the viral video showing farmers being run over by an SUV in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday. The video, which surfaced on Tuesday, was shared by BJP MP Varun Gandhi.  

The 25-second video clip shows slogan-shouting farmers being hit by the SUV from behind. Farmers had earlier alleged that an SUV driven by Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra had rammed into them from behind.

Several political parties, including Congress, Shiv Sena and JMM, questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s on the death of the farmers. Congress general secretary-in-charge of UP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted the clip questioning Modi that why the SUV’s driver hasn’t been arrested yet.
