Real Kashmir FC: Bringing the I-League to the Valley

Just four years into existence, Srinagar-based Real Kashmir FC is set to debut in I-League, the highest division of league football in India.

The idea of Real Kashmir Football Club came out of the massive floods that hit the state in 2014. Just four years later, the Srinagar-based side will debut in I-League, the highest division of league football in India. Real Kashmir FC have dealt with a unique set of circumstances on the way to the top flight; overcoming the myriad challenges posed by Kashmir's political and security environment to put themselves on the national stage. We met up with key personnel at the young club (including their Nigerian captain Loveday Enyinnaya, and coach David Robertson, a six-time Scottish Premier League winner) ahead of their first game of the 2018-19 I-League season.
