The students of Delhi University organised a march on July 23 to save academic freedom in the campus. For past one week, the varsity has been in the middle of a controversy regarding the proposals of syllabus alteration by departments of History, English, Political Science, and other humanities subjects. Earlier this week, the ABVP members had forcefully entered the Academic Council meeting and had resorted to vandalism over the same issue.
The protest was joined by students and teachers from different departments of Delhi University, members of Delhi University Teachers’ Union, Students’ Federation of India and several other students’ organisations.
