The fisherfolk in election-bound Tamil Nadu are angry with both the central and the state governments. Their main concern is the fuel price hike. The boat owners are in distress since many of their boats are not functional. Further, they are yet to recover from the setback caused by the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown. Both the owners and workers of the boats criticise the AIADMK-led Tamil Nadu government and BJP-led central government for not providing adequate support at times of emergency.
