When the entire nation was mourning over the tragic deaths of 13 children after their school van (Tata Magic) hit a passenger train passing through an unmanned railway crossing between Gauri Shriram and Dudahi ralway stations in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh on April 26 morning, the health department of the district apparently remained unmoved. Ashaming the humanity, the insensitive health department officials handed over the bodies of two brothers - 8-year-old Kamran (who was studying in standard one) and 10-year-old Farhan (a student of standard two) - to their greiving familiy without stitching them after the postmortem. The incident came to light after the sealed bodies were opened to be given a funeral bath before being buried. It left the parents, whose trauma is far from being over, stunned and shocked.
