The US seems to be trying to block the advance of the Syrian Government forces against the ISIS, and its attempt to lift the siege of Deir Ezzor in South East Syria. Otherwise, it is difficult to understand the logic of US attacks on the Syrian forces in Al Tanf near the Iraq border, and now the shooting down of its aircraft near Resafa.
