Uttarakhand Elections: Wait Continues for Sainik School Proposed 10 Years ago

On Friday, February 11, the Prime Minister held an election rally in Almora district of Uttarakhand, in which he emphasised the need for new Sainik Schools in the state. Modi said, "There are very few Sainik Schools in our country. To prepare our educated youth, it has now been decided to build new Sainik Schools." However, when Modi was giving this election speech, the people of Thati-Badma village in the Jakholi block of Rudraprayag assembly seat were feeling cheated because the proposal to set up a Sainik School in this village was passed in 2013. However, till date, the school does not even have a name; this is despute several Chief Ministers having done Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration for the construction of this school.
