20 May 2020

Unorganized migrant workers have been among the worst hit by the lockdown. They have been underpaid and often not paid at all. They have also been stranded and isolated in the name of medical emergency in many places. Their socio-economic and psychological problems have not been adequately considered at all by the respective governments. NewsClick talked to some of the workers and a volunteer from "Chennai Citizens Covid Fund for Migrant Labour" who helps the workers with their issues.
