Jaitapur Nuclear Power Project is a proposed 9900 Megawatt project of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) at Madban village of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra.

 French state-controlled nuclear engineering firm Areva S.A. and Indian state-owned nuclear operator NPCIL signed the agreement, valued at about $9.3 billion.

However, the Project raises some serious concerns.
