With a very long dispute on Cauvery water sharing between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the project has further escalated tensions between the states. Dr Janakarajan, an environmentalist and also an expert on water management, explains the reason for the apprehension of Tamil Nadu and its strong objection to the project.
