The Jammu-Srinagar Highway, a 270 km road connecting Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world, was ordered shut on Monday, Jan 11, after a retaining wall collapsed at Kela Morh, Ramban. However, this is not the first time. With ongoing four-laning work and heavy snowfall, the road has been opened and closed for traffic repeatedly since the onset of winter leaving thousands stranded.
