Himachal: Why Centre Govt not Declaring the Tragedy a National Disaster?

In Himachal Pradesh, incidents of landslides are happening due to rains; the roads are closed, and houses collapsed. There has been a huge loss of life and property in the state. Earlier in July also the state received heavy rains. An unprecedented situation has emerged in the state. The people there are expecting help from the centre government, but the disaster has not yet been declared a national disaster. What is the current situation in the state? How much damage was done and is politics being played even in the disaster? NewsClick spoke to former MLA from Theog of CPI(M) and farmer leader Rakesh Singha regarding all these questions.
