In the days before the Indonesian Independence Day, Papuans in various cities across the island country marched and rallied protesting the oppressive conditions in which they live and demanding their right to self-determination. However, they faced severe repression from Indonesian security forces. In Poland, meanwhile, the first Pride march took place in the city of Plock which saw the participation of over 2,000 LGBTQ rights activists. Also, in the Brazilian capital Brasilia, over a 100,000 peasant women took part in the 2019 Daisies’ March, in defense of rural workers' rights. Finally, residents of Green Castle in Northern Ireland have been leading massive mobilisations against the attempts to mine gold by the Canadian firm Dalradian Gold.
