The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) won a major victory after a protest on March 11.

The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) won a major victory after a protest on March 11, when teachers from 12 DU colleges protested against the non-payment of salaries by 'shutting down' DU. On Friday, March 12, the Government of Delhi's Directorate of Higher Education (DOHE) released funds for 12 colleges. The notice has a breakdown of the funds for different colleges. The victory is being seen as a major one for DUTA, with the teachers being hailed. However, is this a permanent solution or just immediate relief? What is the issue all about? Newsclick had a special conversation with Rajib Ray, president of DUTA, about this and other matters related to education.
