Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated Rs 20,000 crore for cleaning the Ganga but the condition of sanitation workers of the ghats of Varanasi is miserable. They are underpaid and not being provided basic safety gear like gloves and masks at work. Meanwhile, whenever PM Modi and CM Yogi are visiting the ghats, they are forced to work overtime without any extra pay.
