The Narendra Modi-led BJP government’s Code on Social Security, 2019 is one of the four codes that propose to merge 44 labour laws.

The Narendra Modi-led BJP government’s Code on Social Security, 2019 is one of the four codes that propose to merge 44 labour laws. Once this Code is in place, it will replace existing eight central labour laws. While speaking to NewsClick, Tapan Sen, general secretary, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), said that this is being done to serve the corporates and take away rights of the workers.
