Recently, in a report in the Business Standard, journalists Nitin Sethi and Kumar Sambhav wrote about Patanjali's benami land. According to the report, Patanjali owns 400 acres of forested common land in the Aravali hills region of Haryana. According to a 2011 Supreme Court order as well as the law in Haryana, common land can only be used by panchayats and people for community purposes, it cannot be owned by any individual as private property. NewsClick's editor-in-chief Prabir Purakayastha discusses the issue with Nitin Sethi and Kumar Sambhav.
