TN Govt Employees Go on Hunger Strike to Protest Suspension of Leader

Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) are on a hunger strike from June 12-14 in solidarity with their state president M Subramanian, who was suspended on May 31, 2019 -- the last day of his service -- by the government.

Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) are on a hunger strike from June 12-14 in solidarity with their state president M Subramanian, who was suspended on May 31, 2019 -- the last day of his service -- by the government. It has been alleged that he was suspended for organising struggles against the government. He is the coordinator of the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Teachers, Organisations and Government Employees Organisations (JACTO-GEO) which has been at the forefront of struggles affecting government employees and teachers.
