It has been alleged that he was suspended for organising struggles against the government. He is the coordinator of the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Teachers, Organisations and Government Employees Organisations (JACTO-GEO) which has been at the forefront of struggles affecting government employees and teachers.
