On March 5, Adivasi and Dalit groups, teachers' organisations and political parties across India called for a 'Bharat Bandh' against the recent Supreme Court order on the eviction of lakhs of Tribals and forest dwellers from their habitat. The Bandh was supported by various national leaders, activists and organisations.

Hundreds of teachers under the banner of Delhi University Teacher's Association marched to Parliament Street on March 5 in solidarity with the Bandh.
