All India Strike of Scheme Workers on January 17th

On a call given by 10 trade unions, over fifty lakh scheme workers from across the country, will participate in an all India strike, on January 17th. Their 4 main demands include: 1) Recognising them as workers and giving them corresponding rights. 2) Coverage of EPF and ESI to scheme workers as social security including monthly pension not less than Rs. 3000. 3) Minimum wages not less than Rs. 18,000  per month. 4) No privatisation of schemes.
