Media reports say that auto companies registered record sales in October. However, the reality is that these figures only account for those cars and two-wheelers which have been sent from factories to showrooms, but showroom sales have gone down. If we look at the numbers for September and October, it becomes clear that while production rates of two-wheelers and cars have gone up by 15%, showroom sales have gone down by 18%. When the owner of Bajaj Auto, Rajiv Bajaj pointed this out, he was trolled on social media. The numbers have now proved him correct.
