Corporatisation of Defence Factories: Risking National Security?
The Narendra Modi-led BJP government has decided to corporatise 246-year-old Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), an umbrella body that oversees the 41 ordnance factories across the country. C. Srikumar, the General Secretary of All India Defence Employees Federation (AIDEF) said that the Modi government is not even concerned with the legacy of these defence factories, and plans to sell it even without caring for the nation's security. He said that the government is going ahead with the plan even when 80,000 employees and the four lakh defence civilian employees associated with it have opposed the plan.
