Elections 2019: ‘No Allahabad HC Bench in Meerut, No Vote to BJP’
Miffed with unfulfilled decade-old demand for a bench of the Allahabad High Court, the Meerut Bar Association is set to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is kickstarting BJP's campaign for 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the city on March 28. The lawyers said, "For people living in western Uttar Pradesh, it is easier and cheaper to get justice from Lahore in Pakistan than the Allahabad High Court." The lawyers’ fraternity in the sugar belt also said that the BJP will have to bear the brunt in the upcoming elections for betraying them in particular, and people in general.
