Explainer - National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF)

UGC has released National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF) to make big changes in the higher education system. This is a part of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government's push for the New Education Policy (NEP). "This education framework creates a system of their (Central government) choice. It is to intensify the commercialisation of education and omit the backward sections from obtaining the education. The implementation of this policy without considering the diversified Indian society will push the country backwards," said Educationist Jawahar Nesan in this interview with NewsClick.
