Ground Report : Dalit Girl Burnt a Few Kms from Parliament, Yet Government Remains Silent
In this ground report, senior journalist Bhasha Singh reached Delhi's Nangal village to cover the ongoing protest against the brutal violence inflicted on a nine-year-old Dalit girl, allegations which the Delhi Police is trying to suppress. The Delhi Police worked to hush up the barbaric incident of the alleged rape of a Valmiki girl child whose corpse was later burned, but the organised protest in the village kept it alive as a national issue. All political parties have given their support, but the entire Modi government, including Meenakshi Lekhi, an MP from the area, neither expressed grief nor consoled the parents of the victim.
