Haitians Continue to Resist their US-backed President and the IMF
On October 13 and 14, another round of massive protests was organized in Haiti calling for the resignation of the country’s United States-backed president Jovenel Moïse. Haitians are also demanding an end to the neoliberal policies that are being pushed by the International Monetary Fund and government allegiance to imperial interests. Artists and musicians, along with all sectors of the Haitian population, joined these protests which saw tens of thousands marching on the streets. Calling for strengthening the people’s resistance, a week-long call for action has been given. October 15 will witness a day of solidarity with those who have lost their lives or been injured during the last four weeks of popular anti-government protests.
