From December 15, 2019, onwards, a group of Muslim women, along with their children and grandchildren, converged on a major route in New Delhi- Road 13 A, G. D. Birla Marg, Shaheen Bagh- in the middle of a cold December. This one act of resistance sparked a national people's movement, uniting Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits, Jains, and Christians in support of these women's courage.

Besides members of the Communist Party of India( CPIM), several other organisations participated in the demonstration. The gathering was also attended by the families of those facing incarceration.

The goal of the gathering, according to the protestors, is to commemorate the Shaheen Bagh protest's impact while simultaneously calling for the repeal of the CAA-NRC acts.

"We also demand the abolition of black legislation such as UAPA, as well as the release of all political prisoners," said the group.
