Should People Across the Country Switch Lights off?

Following PM Modi's appeal to the people to switch off lights at their homes for nine minutes on April 5 at 9 pm, Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut has said that the sudden dip in the demand can pose a threat of 'feeder tripping'. If people all across Maharashtra opt for this, there is a possibility of large-scale multi grid failure, he said, which can directly affect the essential services and supply to the hospitals.
