The workers in JBM Auto System Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the multinational company JBM Group, have begun a sit-in protest after they were terminated and transferred for forming a union. The factory is located in the Kanchipuram district, adjacent to Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) helped the workers when no other trade union helped them. The struggle of the workers led by the CITU forced the company to take back some of the terminated employees. They are continuing their fight to reinstate the remaining workers as well.
