Kashmir: Tosamaidan, a Death Trap for Children?

A student of class IX, Muhammad Asif Wani is among the three injured in a blast at Tosa Maidan's Khag area in central Kashmir's Budgam district. 15-year-old Asif was playing in an open area of Tosamaidan when an abandoned shell exploded, injuring him and two others.  

Tosamaidan was used as a firing range by the army up till 2014. The area has become a death trap for people, especially children. Newsclick brings you a detailed report on the agony of the family of the injured boy which is waiting for any word from the government. Victims of those who are injured or dead due to incidents in Tosamaidan have not been given any hearing at all from the government for help and rehabilitation.
