Koyambedu Headload Workers Neglected and Overburdened

Approximately 3,50,000 lakh headload workers are employed in different markets and trading complexes across Tamil Nadu. The Koyambedu market complex in Chennai is Asia's largest perishable goods market, where over 5,000 headload workers are employed in loading and unloading of goods. With most of them being not included in the welfare boards, they allege that no one including the government is concerned about them.
