But, in India, we are constantly witnessing how those who are responsible for ensuring the rule of law are taking the law into their hands- they become the investigators, the lawyers and also the judge. Professor Satish Deshpande, who teaches Sociology at Delhi University, tells NewsClick that we are living in a world where the rulers believe in authoritarian populism.
