Malayalam Actors, Directors Share Constitution's Preamble as Others Turn up at Ram Mandir

This move on social media appears to be a reminder of the secular, socialist, and democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.

Delhi: On the inauguration day of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, celebrities from the Malayalam film industry shared images of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution on their social media handles, The News Minute reported.  

This move on social media appears to be a reminder of the secular, socialist, and democratic values enshrined in the Constitution. Significantly, it comes on the day the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) completes one of its major Hindutva promises that saw its rise in the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement, which led to the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. 

Noted Malayalam film personalities, including actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Rima Kallingal, Divya Prabha, Rajesh Madhavan, Kani Kusruti, directors Jeo Baby, Aashiq Abu, Kamal KM, Kunjila Mascillamani, and singer Sooraj Santhosh shared photos of the Constitution’s Preamble. 

The Preamble, as shared in the photos, say: “We the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India a into a Sovereign, Socialist,  Secular, Democratic, Republic and to secure to all its citizens:  

Justice, social, economic and political; 

Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; 

Equality of status and of opportunity and to promote among them all; 

Fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; 

in our Constituent Assembly, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949 do Hereby Adopt, Enact and give to ourselves this Constitution.” 

Among others, actor Parvathy Thiruvothu posted the preamble on Instagram with the caption "Our India.”

On the other hand, personalities from sports, entertainment and political spheres arrived in Ayodhya as Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the Pran Pratishtha rituals.  

superstars Rajinikanth and Dhanush reached the Ram Mandir along with Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana. Filmmakers Rohit Shetty, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Rajkumar Hirani also marked their presence at the event.
