Masrat Zahra, Gowhar Geelani on Stringent Charges Slapped on Journalists in Kashmir

Kashmiri journalists Masrat Zahra and Gowhar Geelani have been charged under the draconian law, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, (UAPA), 1967, for alleged "anti-national" social media posts by the Cyber Police Station in Kashmir. In a Statement released by the Cyber Police, Kashmir Zone, they alleged that the social media posts 'glorified terrorism' in the Valley. NewsClick spoke to Masrat Zahra, who has been a freelance photojournalist for the past four years, and Gowhar Geelani, whose works have been published on various national and international platforms, to talk to them about the way the institution of journalism is being attacked.
