Mewat Simmers Over Junaid-Nasir Murders
The Mewat région is simmering over Haryana Police's indifferent attitude on the killing of Junaid and Nasir. The two young residents of Ghatmeeka in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan were found dead in Haryana’s Bhiwani district on February 16. Talking to NewsClick, Junaid and Nasir’s friends, family and co-villagers express hope for justice—and hopelessness over being repeatedly targeted as Muslims and Mewatis. They say they will continue to protest demanding justice until all the accused, including notorious cow vigilante Monu ‘Manesar’, are arrested and face trial.
