Non-Locals Being Targeted in Kashmir
The new spate of killings in Jammu and Kashmir has triggered a wave of fear among the non-local workers. Five out of the total 11 civilians killed by militants this month so far belonged to other states. On Monday evening, the situation in Srinagar had become quite tense with Internet and mobile phone services suspended in some of the affected areas as a precautionary measure. Political parties have strongly condemned the killings with former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti (Peoples Democratic Party) and Omar Abdullah (National Conference) taking to Twitter to raise concerns over the crisis in the Valley.
