SC Dissatisfied With Lakhimpur Kheri Probe, Whistleblower Exposes Facebook
In this episode of Daily Round-Up, we talk about how the Supreme Court pulled up the Uttar Pradesh police on Friday for the delay in the arrest of junior home minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra, one of the co-accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, in which eight people were killed, on Sunday. A viral video showed a speeding SUV belonging to Ashish mowing down farmers walking in protest against the three farm laws.
“We are not satisfied with the investigation. The highest police officer must protect the evidence in the case. Why wasn’t the accused arrested immediately? Why are they not treated like any other citizen? The local police have not done the job properly,” the top court said.
