Speeding Car Crushes Nine School Students to Death and Injures 24 in Muzaffarpur, Bihar

According to reports, the students were about to cross the National Highway 77 after the school when the speeding car entered the school premises.

As many as nine schoolchildren were crushed to death and more than 24 others injured after a speeding car entered school premises in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Saturday. Reports say that the students of the Dharampur Government Middle School, which is located along the national highway, were about to cross the National Highway 77 after school.

The injured students were rushed to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) at Muzaffarpur.

The injured children have been rushed to Sri Krishna Memorial College and Hospital (SKMCH). Hospitals in Patna, around 80 kilometres from Muzaffarpur, have also been alerted and asked to be prepared for treatment of the critically injured children,” he said.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car, Bolero SUV, managed to escape from the place abandoning his vehicle.

So far, the Bihar government has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased children.
