Three Years of Modi Government: Failure of Foreign Policy

BJP led government has failed miserably on the foreign policy front
Interview with John Cherian
17 May 2017
Interviewed by Benny Kuruvilla

As part of its series of interviews assessing three years of the Modi Government, Newsclick speaks with John Cherian (Associate Editor with the Frontline Magazine) on foreign policy. Cherian argues that, on several counts, it has been a poor performance by Prime Minister Modi. At the South Asia level, tensions have escalated with Pakistan and the SAARC process has been stalled. Despite the opportunities offered by the decline of western power, India does not seem to be interested in furthering a multi-polar world order.
