Over the course of three months since the progressive yet controversial judgement of the Supreme Court which declared that the access to temple spaces such as Sabarimala is a constitutional right; there have been massive protests in Kerala. On the call of the CPI(M)-led LDF government, a Women's Wall which saw participation from over five million women was created. Later, two women entered the temple premises which was followed by hartal called on by the BJP and other right-wing organisations. In defence of the secular spirit, people came out on the streets, and showed their solidarity with the larger cause of equal accessibility to space
