Why Have Employees hit the Streets Against Urban Company?

On October 8, women employees of the home-service providing platform Urban Company staged a huge protest. Urban Company does not consider these women as employees and keeps them in the 'Partners' category. Thus, their salary, allowance, working hours are not fixed. During the demonstration, the protestors presented a long list of complaints before the company. Although the demonstration lasted only a day, the associated women see it as a long-term movement. Newsclick spoke to some of these women and tried to know their grievances and situation.
