Why is There Opposition to the Electricity Amendment Bill 2022?
In the upcoming monsoon session, news is coming that the government will introduce Electricity Amendment Bill 2022. On this bill, the All India Power Engineers Federation has sent a letter to the Union Power Minister RK Singh, demanding that the recently released Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 on the draft of all the stakeholders, especially the electricity consumers and electricity workers, should have a detailed discussion. Without this, the bill should not be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament in haste, they say. What are the objections to this bill? How will this affect the common people?
