Wrestlers' Protest: 'Democracy is Enshrined in People, Not in Grand Parliament'
On the inauguration day of the new Parliament building, the wrestlers' protest saw 'brutal' suppression by Delhi Police, which works under the Union Home Ministry. Amidst the presence of heavy police and paramilitary forces, wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat and others were detained along with the students, activists and farmers who had come to support and participate in the Mahila Mahapanchayat. Many people coming from the neighbouring states of Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh were stopped or detained by police at Singhu and Tikri borders. Watch NewsClick's ground report
