In Naidkhai village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora, 63-year-old Zareefa Jan is a well-known Sufi poet, who is popular for her work in mysticism. She is, however, not educated. She cannot read or write but uses a web of circles to denote her poetry, which only she can read or translate. It is her own language of codes.
