The Bhopal tragedy took place on the intervening night of December 2-3, 1984, but, as justice was denied to the victims by the courts, the company, the various political outfits and governments, it continues to be a cause of suffering even after 35 years. The Bhopal gas disaster has been creating newer victims, and has led to 25,000 deaths over the years—many of which could have been avoided. ND Jayaprakash of the Delhi Science Forum and Bhopal Gas Peedit Sangharsh Sahyog Samiti explains how the victims have fought back, how the governments have ignored them and what must be done next, in an interview with NewsClick.
