Cartoon Click: Democracy Bulldozed!

The legal route to settle political scores may not be new for those in power, but this has moved on to the fast lane during the Narendra Modi regime. As much as 95% political leaders being investigated by Central agencies at present are from Opposition parties. In this backdrop, the high-speed disqualification of Rahul Gandhi, who has been asking questions from the government in Parliament on the Adani group’s sharp rise during the Modi regime (as revealed in the Hindenburg report), vindicates his speech in London on ‘democracy being in danger’. For, not only were the Congress MP’s questions and remarks expunged, and he was not allowed to speak in Lok Sabha even after ministers made allegations against him on the floor of the House, he has been barred from recording his side of the story by this disqualification move.
